Orient NY is a beachwear brand founded by Cecile Casablancas and launched at Art Basel Miami in December 2017, with a selection of artist-designed one pieces and accessories. The inaugural collection at NADA Art Fair featured collaborations with artists such as Bozidar Brazda, Jim Drain, Caitlin Keogh, Servane Mary, and Aura Rosenberg.
Initiated in this limited edition style, the project provided established and emerging artists with the opportunity to create a specific image or pattern for the garments.
The line is now evolving into a full range of swimwear with both one and two pieces, focusing on extravagant or whimsical prints. These classic shapes are produced in high-end fabrics sourced in Italy or Brazil, very soft to the touch, for longevity, luxurious quality and fit. Printed bags and towels will expand the collection as it continues to grow.
Following its original idea of creating one of a kind images and patterns, Orient NY strives to consistently create new and unique prints. The artist collaborations will continue on a yearly basis, and we are currently working with artists Jorge Pardo and Hugo Cesto on swimsuits and accessories. Hugo has recently collaborated with fashion houses Junko Shimada and Pharrell Williams’ Billionaire Boys Club. Jorge Pardo has had numerous gallery and museum exhibitions and has recently designed l’Arlatan Hotel in Arles, France, for art patron Maja Hoffmann. Pardo is renowned for his paintings, sculptures and architectural designs.
